Psychiatry - Inpatient-Geriatric Psychiatrist - Troy, NY

St. Peter’s Health Partners is seeking a full-time Inpatient-Geriatric Psychiatrist with training or strong interest in Geriatric Psychiatry for an inpatient role at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Samaritan Hospital offers a comprehensive behavioral health program featuring 63 inpatient beds across three specialized units, including a dedicated 20-bed Gero-Psychiatry unit. Our interdisciplinary team delivers compassionate, patient-centered care that addresses the complex medical, psychiatric, and social needs of older adults.

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care for geriatric patients on a 20-bed Geriatric-Psychiatry unit
• Supported by a full-time Clinical Coordinator/Social Worker with specialized geriatric-psychiatry training
• Join a highly supportive team of therapists, counselors, case managers, psychiatrists, and nurse practitioners
• Call Rotation: 1:6 weekends

• Join a well-established, mission-driven inpatient behavioral health program
• Practice within a supportive, multidisciplinary care model
• Strong system-level behavioral health leadership and resources
• Stable, full-time psychiatrist presence on the Geriatric-Psychiatry unit
• Collaborative environment with excellent care coordination

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry preferred but not required
• Experience working in an inpatient behavioral health setting preferred
• DEA licensure and New York State medical license (or eligibility) required
• Excellent clinical skills, strong communication skills, and commitment to team-based care
• New and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• MD or DO
• Experience treating an adult psychiatric patient population
• Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation Liaison preferred
• Experience in an inpatient setting or ED/crisis is also preferred
• DEA Licensure/NYS licensure required

Compensation is between $318,449 and $354,957 commensurate with experience, with the ability to earn more through a generous quality incentive. The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer.

Starting Bonus of $35,000.

Retention Bonus of $15,000 at the beginning of year 2.
