Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Physicians – Northwell Health
The Department of Neurology of Northwell Health is seeking BC/BE full‑time Movement Disorders Physicians, to provide superb clinical care, participate in innovative care models, engage in collaborative research, lead progressive community programs, and contribute to the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. As the Movement Disorders program is rapidly expanding, we are looking for additional faculty members to join our multi‑disciplinary team with full‑time opportunities available at the following locations:
Locations- Glen Cove Hospital (Glen Cove, NY)
- South Shore University Hospital (Bayshore, NY)
- Lenox Hill Hospital (Manhattan, NY)
- Phelps Hospital (Sleepy Hollow, NY)
Northwell’s Parkinson's and Movement Disorders program is among the largest in the Northeast, offering comprehensive medical, rehabilitative, and surgical care. The surgical program includes an active deep brain stimulation (DBS) program and high‑intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The multidisciplinary team includes board‑certified neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses, neuropsychologists, social workers, and rehabilitation specialists. In Long Island, the dedicated 12‑bed Parkinson’s and movement disorders inpatient unit at Glen Cove Hospital provides advanced rehabilitation services and medical and surgical optimization, and is integrated with the DBS program for post‑surgical programming combined with intense rehabilitation and medication optimization.
The unit has received Joint Commission certification and is recognized as the leading inpatient program in the U.S.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:
- M.D. Degree from an accredited institution (ACGME or foreign program that is similarly appropriately accredited)
- Completion of Neurology residency and Movement Disorders fellowship
- Must be board certified/board eligible
- Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of New York

Full‑time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good‑faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
