About Atlantic Spine Center

Atlantic Spine Center is a recognized leader in
endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgery
. We are dedicated to providing advanced surgical solutions while delivering an exceptional, highly personalized patient experience.

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Surgical Coordinator / Surgical Patient Navigator
who can build strong relationships with patients and guide them through one of the most important healthcare decisions of their lives.

This is
not simply a scheduling position
. We are looking for an experienced professional who understands the complete surgical journey—from a surgeon’s recommendation through patient education, insurance authorization, medical clearance, scheduling, and surgery.

What You’ll Do
  • Build trusted relationships with patients after surgery has been recommended
  • Personally follow up with patients who are considering spine surgery
  • Listen to patients’ concerns and identify barriers preventing them from moving forward
  • Help patients navigate scheduling, insurance, work, family, transportation, and other logistical concerns
  • Coordinate the entire surgical process from recommendation through completion
  • Work closely with our spine surgeons, clinical team, patient advocates, insurance team, and surgical facilities
  • Coordinate insurance authorization and required documentation
  • Arrange preoperative testing, medical clearances, and appointments

Re-engage patients who have stopped responding to previous outreach
  • Ensure patients with medical questions or concerns are promptly connected with the appropriate clinician
  • Maintain accurate patient status, communication, barriers, and next steps in our CRM/EHR
  • Provide an exceptional patient experience throughout the surgical journey
Work With Our MD360 AI Platform

AI-assisted patient engagement technology through MD360
.

Our AI agents will help with routine outreach, reminders, follow-up, and identification of patients who need additional assistance.

The Surgical Coordinator will provide the
human expertise and relationship
behind this technology.

You will work alongside our MD360 AI system to:

  • Prioritize patients who need personal attention
  • Respond to complex patient situations
  • Identify common reasons patients hesitate or become lost to follow-up
  • Improve patient communication workflows
  • Help our technology team improve AI-assisted patient engagement
  • Ensure technology enhances—not replaces—the human relationship with our patients
Who We’re Looking For

We strongly prefer candidates with significant experience in:

  • Spine surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Pain management
  • Other high-volume surgical specialties
Ideal Qualifications
  • 3+ years of surgical coordination experience preferred
  • Strong surgical scheduling and patient-navigation experience
  • Experience with insurance verification and surgical authorization
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional follow-up and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients who may be anxious, hesitant, or uncertain
  • Comfortable managing a large surgical patient pipeline
  • Experience working with CRM and EHR systems
  • Comfortable adopting AI and other new healthcare technologies
  • Highly accountable and results-oriented while remaining patient-centered
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, clinical staff, insurance teams, and surgical facilities
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means:

  • Patients receive timely, personalized follow-up after surgery is recommended
  • Patients understand the next steps in their care
  • Patient questions and concerns are identified quickly
  • Patients are not lost because of poor communication or lack of follow-up
  • Insurance and authorization issues are addressed efficiently
