Overview

Advancing healthcare takes more than knowledge—it takes partnership. Our Clinical Scholars and donors play a vital role in shaping the future of medicine by supporting education, research, and patient‑centered innovation. This clinical scholarship program aims to provide four paid research internships each year to college graduates who aspire to a medical career. Candidates from under‑represented minorities (URM) in medicine are encouraged to apply.

Scholars selected for the program are paired with a physician mentor who is an active clinical and research physician ncis Hospital & Heart Center. This full‑time, paid position focuses on research activities and clinical observations in cardiovascular medicine ncis Hospital & Heart Center. Scholars will collaborate with a research team to contribute to scientific publications, attend a national scientific meeting, and engage in structured lectures and journal club to strengthen research methodology skills.

Scholars will be trained to analyze various cardiac imaging modalities, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), CT, MRI, and coronary angiograms. They will also have the opportunity to interact with patients through their research work and build professional networks within the medical community.

USD $24.62 – $24.62 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate; actual pay will depend on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. The salary does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation, and it does not include the value of benefits.
