Academic Scholar, Child Abuse Physician - Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor;
Department of Pediatrics

, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and Kaleida Health’s Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH) is actively recruiting a general or sub-specialty trained pediatrician (e.g., Critical Care, Hospitalist Medicine) with interest and experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics. Approximately 50% of the time will be dedicated to Child Abuse Pediatrics and the remaining 50% to general pediatrics or their subspecialty.

The Physician will join the Division of General Pediatrics and, where applicable, their subspecialty division, working with a multidisciplinary team focused on advocacy and neglect.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical evaluations of suspected child abuse victims at the Child Advocacy Center Buffalo (CAC) and child abuse consultations at GCH.
  • Collaborate with the child abuse team at CAC, the pediatric trauma team at GCH, and community agencies to manage and prevent child abuse and neglect, and to support children and families.
  • Integrate academic teaching duties, mentoring medical students and residents from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and community outreach initiatives related to child abuse prevention.
Qualifications
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Eligible for New York State licensure.
  • Interest in academic medicine.
  • Experience working with child abuse cases and multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
