Aboutthe Clinician's Workday
The Emergency Medicine Physician Associate will provide clinical coverage during day and night shifts at this on-site emergency department in NY, with shift times of 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM, or 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM when single APP coverage applies. Clinicians will evaluate and manage emergency department presentations across acuity levels 1 - 5, with a typical patient volume of 18 - 24 patients per 12-hour shift within a 19-bed ED that also includes 4 fast track chairs and hall stretchers as needed.
Admissions are completed by hospitalists, with an average of 6 - 16 admissions per day dependent on volume. No call responsibilities are associated with this assignment, and board certification is required.
Case Load/PPD: 18 - 24 patients per 12-hour shift
Support Staff: 1 APP 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM and 1 APP 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM; hospitalists on staff
