This health system operates an emergency department serving the regional patient population in upstate NY. The facility maintains 19 ED beds, 4 fast track chairs, and the capacity to utilize hall stretchers to accommodate patient volume, which averages 70 - 90 visits per day. Established clinical protocols and appropriate resources are in place to support locum tenens clinicians during assigned coverage periods.

The upstate New York region offers a range of natural and cultural attractions suited to varied interests, including Watkins Glen State Park, scenic waterfalls, and nature and wildlife tours. The Corning Museum of Glass serves as a notable destination for those interested in art and science. Clinicians on assignment may also explore the National Comedy Center and the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum in Jamestown, reflecting the region's notable comedy history.

The Emergency Medicine Physician Associate will provide clinical coverage during day and night shifts at this on-site emergency department in NY, with shift times of 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM, or 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM when single APP coverage applies. Clinicians will evaluate and manage emergency department presentations across acuity levels 1 - 5, with a typical patient volume of 18 - 24 patients per 12-hour shift within a 19-bed ED that also includes 4 fast track chairs and hall stretchers as needed.

Admissions are completed by hospitalists, with an average of 6 - 16 admissions per day dependent on volume. No call responsibilities are associated with this assignment, and board certification is required.

Case Load/PPD: 18 - 24 patients per 12-hour shift

Support Staff: 1 APP 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM and 1 APP 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM; hospitalists on staff
