Compensation: $400,000+/year + bonus

TAG Med Staffing is hiring a Gastroenterologist in Staten Island, NY for our client, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care within a hospital and ambulatory practice environment. This role combines general GI consultations, procedural care, colorectal cancer screening, and management of gastrointestinal, inflammatory bowel, and hepatobiliary conditions. The ideal candidate is fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology and comfortable managing both outpatient practice responsibilities and rotating inpatient coverage.
Responsibilities as the Gastroenterologist:
- Gastroenterology Care: Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and digestive health conditions.
- GI Procedures: Perform endoscopy, colonoscopy, colorectal cancer screening, and other standard diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology procedures.
- Inpatient Care: Provide inpatient gastroenterology consultations and manage hospitalized patients as needed.
- Outpatient Care: Evaluate and treat patients in an ambulatory setting while developing individualized diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Call Coverage: Participate in shared call coverage and provide gastroenterology consultation as required.

Collaboration:
Coordinate with physicians, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications for the Gastroenterologist:
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship are required.
- Licensure: Active or eligible New York State physician licensure is required.
- Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
- Experience: 1+ year of gastroenterology experience is preferred, including inpatient and outpatient care and standard GI procedures.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of general gastroenterology, gastrointestinal disease management, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and inpatient and outpatient GI care is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, communication, patient care, collaboration, and ability to manage inpatient and outpatient responsibilities are required.
