Chief of Urology

The Arthur Smith Institute for Urology at Northwell Health is seeking a physician leader for the position of Chief, Urology at Northern Westchester Hospital. In this leadership role, the Chief will oversee clinical operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and drive productivity among physician faculty and support staff. The successful candidate will foster a culture of scholarship in quality improvement and maintain departmental excellence within a growing, integrated healthcare network.

• The Smith Institute for Urology has seen tremendous growth over the past five years within Long Island, New York City, and Westchester with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services.
• Physicians have vast experience in minimally invasive procedures to treat all urologic diseases including those affecting the bladder, kidneys, male genitalia, and prostate.
• Weekly conferences are held to help keep all updated on the latest treatments and technologies.
• Includes residencies and an extensive network of physician extenders.
• Access to the expertise of the largest health system in the New York Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Working with the chair on all matters related to clinical operations
• Ensure high quality patient care through development and standardization of care processes and protocols
• Continue to develop a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity and outcomes
• Ensure the productivity of physician faculty and support staff
• Maintain and improve upon the excellence within the department

Requirements

• M.D. Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine
• Completion of residency and fellowship with Board Certification or eligibility
• Currently licensed as a physician in the State of New York
• Outstanding communication and management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and staff
• Previous division, department, or program leadership
• Preferred:
  Specialized training in Robotics, Female Pelvic or Uro-Oncology
