Northwell Health is seeking a full-time Chair of Surgery at Peconic Bay Medical Center to lead and grow a surgical department serving Long Island's North Fork community. The successful candidate will oversee a collaborative environment with experienced surgical colleagues and advanced practice providers while maintaining an active clinical practice. - Peconic Bay Medical Center is a 125-bed acute care hospital located in Riverhead, NY, serving the North Fork and surrounding communities of eastern Long Island.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all employed and independent physicians within the Department of Surgery.
- Maintain an active clinical practice while supporting departmental growth and development.
- Develop engagement, alignment, and collaboration among department members and with other clinical departments across the health system.
- Lead initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development.
- Advance departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and service line expansion.
- Partner with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement.
Shift & Schedule
- Full-time.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in General Surgery (subspecialty certification a plus).
- Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within an academic or clinically integrated health system environment.
- A proven track record of clinical excellence, physician engagement, and program growth.
