South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC) – Clinical Physician 2 Position

SBPC, an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Physician to serve as a Clinical Physician 2 to provide medical care to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

• Provide clinical consultation for individuals with complex medical diagnoses.
• Review admission referral packets for medical clearance.
• Provide clinical supervision to lower-level physicians and other medical providers.
• Consult with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Communicate with local hospitals when SBPC patients are in their care.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

• Eligibility for the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program: NYS license and current registration to practice medicine; and at least 2 years of post‑licensure medical experience.
• Or, if within State Service: one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
