The Department of Medicine, Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons is seeking a highly qualified Academic Transplant Hepatologist to join our renowned Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation (CLDT). This full-time faculty position is available at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level and offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the nation's leading liver disease and transplantation programs.
Position OverviewThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with hepatobiliary disorders and will play an integral role in the multidisciplinary transplant program. This position combines outstanding clinical practice with opportunities for teaching, research, and academic advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with hepatobiliary disorders.
- Deliver pre-transplant and post-transplant hepatology care.
- Participate in liver service call coverage.
- Educate and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Participate in outreach initiatives and program development.
- Engage in clinical and/or basic science research activities.
- Support quality improvement, compliance, and patient safety initiatives within the Departments of Medicine and Surgery.
- MD degree or equivalent from an accredited LCME-approved medical school.
- Completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.
- Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.
- Meet UNOS qualifications as a transplant physician.
- Eligible for medical licensure in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
