NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem's CPEP provides 24/7 emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention, with a six-bed Extended Observation Unit, to a diverse, underserved community. The multidisciplinary team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health specialists delivering high-quality care in an academic safety-net setting.
Opportunity Details:
Full-time, daytime Psychiatrist to join our CPEP team; 8- or 12-hour shifts. Part-time may also be considered.
Evaluate and manage acute psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use emergencies.
Work within a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health professionals.
Teach and supervise Psychiatry Residents, Medical Students, and other trainees as applicable.
Respond to consult requests from the Medical ER, Pediatric ER, and Inpatient Medical and Pediatric units, as well as the Inpatient Psychiatric unit after hours.
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
Active New York State Medical License.
Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690** (board eligible) and $450,020** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
