Epileptologist

NY Neuro Care Medical Services is led by Dr. Florence Shum, DO, FAAN, a triple board-certified neurologist and Castle Connolly Top Doctor. As our practice grows across two boroughs, we’re looking for an EEG or Clinical Neurophysiologist to support our epilepsy patients.

• A program to shape. Help build and lead epilepsy care at a growing practice, with real input into how it develops.
• EEG in-house. Read and interpret studies with the support to grow EEG services.
• A strong team behind you. Experienced PAs and dedicated staff keep clinic days efficient.
• Collaborative leadership. Work alongside a reputable neurologist who values subspecialty expertise.
• A diverse, underserved patient base. Care for a multilingual community with significant need for epilepsy specialists.
• Flexibility. Brooklyn, Staten Island, or a split schedule.

• Diagnose and manage epilepsy and seizure disorders in adults (and pediatrics from age 12 and older, if applicable).
• Interpret routine and ambulatory EEGs.
• Evaluate drug-resistant epilepsy and coordinate referrals for advanced workup and surgical evaluation.
• Manage antiseizure medications, including complex regimens.
• Serve as a resource to the clinical team on seizure-related cases.

• MD or DO.
• New York medical license (or eligible to obtain).
• Board-certified or board-eligible in neurology.
• Fellowship training in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology.
• ABPN certification in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology preferred.
• Bonus: Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish fluency.
