Overview
One Brooklyn Health (OBH) seeks a visionary, board-certified physician leader to serve as Chairperson of the Department of Radiology. The Chair will provide strategic, operational, and academic leadership for all radiological services across the OBH system, encompassing diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and neuroradiology. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team, advance subspecialty growth, and champion the integration of technology-including AI-assisted imaging-to improve diagnostic quality and patient outcomes.
OBH is an end-to-end EPIC environment and enjoys a long-standing collaboration with ONRAD to support and enhance imaging capabilities.

Responsibilities Leadership & Administration:- Provide executive oversight of all Department of Radiology operations across OBH system hospitals and affiliated sites
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high-caliber radiologists, advanced practice providers, and support staff
- Establish and monitor departmental goals, quality metrics, and performance benchmark
- Serve as a key member of the Medical Staff leadership team and OBH Clinical Leadership Council
- Collaborate with hospital administration on capital planning, equipment procurement, and technology investments
- Champion evidence-based imaging protocols, radiation safety standards, and ACR accreditation readiness
- Lead peer review, quality improvement, and utilization management initiatives
- Drive Leapfrog, Joint Commission, and other regulatory compliance efforts related to imaging safety and quality
- Oversee implementation of AI-assisted diagnostic tools and evaluate emerging radiology technologies
- Ensure timely turnaround of radiology reports aligned with clinical and operational needs
- Develop and sustain residency and fellowship training programs in partnership with academic affiliates
- Foster a culture of scholarly inquiry, research, and continuing medical education within the department
- Pursue extramural funding, grants, and collaborative research opportunities
- Develop and manage the departmental operating and capital budget
- Identify and implement service line growth opportunities, including outpatient imaging expansion
- Optimize revenue cycle performance through effective documentation, coding, and payer strategy in alignment with Epic EHR workflows
- Forge and maintain productive relationships with referring physicians, clinical departments, and community health partners
Education:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution,required.
- Specialization degree/certification may be required depending on the position.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in an academic or complex halthcare environment, required.
- Demonstrated success in departmental administration, faculty development, and quality improvement, required.
- Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty, preferred.
- Prior experience leading radiology services within a safety-net, urban, or FQHC-affiliated hospital system, preferred.
- Track record of growing imaging volumes, expanding subspecialty services, and implementing teleradiology solutions, preferred.
- Prior experience with GME program leadership, NIH/foundation grant funding, or clinical research administration, preferred.
Skills:
- Understand the evolving world of healthcare, education and research.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey knowledge in medicine to other providers, residents and also to be able to communicate to patients in a manner they understand.
- Familiarity with Epic EHR radiology workflows, PACS platforms, and radiology information systems (RIS)
- Knowledge of OPPS/APC-based reimbursement, CMS imaging quality programs, and ACR Appropriateness Criteria
Certifications:
- Must be Board Certified, current medical license to practice in NY State (or eligibility to obtain), required.
- Board certification in Radiology (A or equivalent), required.
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
- Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
