Mentor a NYC High School Student!

iMentor is a youth mentoring program working to empower first‑generation college students to graduate high school, succeed in college or other post‑secondary pathways, and achieve their highest ambitions through one‑on‑one mentorships. iMentor supports nearly 3,000 NYC students every year through mentorship; join our community of service‑oriented professionals mentoring the next generation of leaders.

We know you’ve got a lot on your plate but here is the good news—mentoring with iMentor takes only 3–4 hours a month. The experience is easy: communicate online once a week and meet once a month (during the school year only). This becomes approximately 6–8 in‑person meet‑ups during the academic year only.

We’re currently taking a brief pause between January and March from onboarding new mentors to ensure everything is perfectly in place for a successful year ahead.

This RSVP will help us keep you in the loop as we kick off the start of the 2026 season and launch our Mentor Orientation dates in March. Attendance to a Mentor Orientation is the first important step in the journey towards becoming a mentor!
