Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full-time dynamic and inspirational leader to serve as its Director of Educational Technology starting July 1, 2026. As a key member of the Technology Department, the Director will balance visionary leadership with practical implementation, supporting exploration, creativity, inquiry, and innovation in teaching and learning.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the successful candidate will be an experienced educator who partners closely with administrators, faculty, and students, ensuring technology promotes creativity and deepens the student-teacher conversation.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Innovation- Vision and Planning:
Execute the school’s strategic technology plan, ensuring school-wide connections between educational technology and infrastructure initiatives. - Emerging Technologies and AI:
Lead the school’s engagement with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging tools, including facilitating an AI Working Group to develop AI literacy that balances skepticism and curiosity. - Tool Management:
Maintain a rigorous system for vetting educational technology tools for data privacy, cost, and safety, while managing the sun setting of outdated or redundant tools. - Evaluation:
In collaboration with the CIO, evaluate software and hardware to make strategic recommendations that align with the school's mission.
- Partnership:
Serve as a partner who can engage in pedagogical conversations with faculty to connect technology tools to classroom practice, focusing on curriculum needs and assessment for learning rather than providing purely technical training. - Professional Development:
Design and lead ongoing professional development workshops and one-on-one support to help faculty enhance instructional practice. - Just-in-Time Support:
Provide day-to-day, hands‑on instructional support for faculty and students, ensuring tools are leveraged effectively in real time. - Onboarding:
Design and lead technology orientation for new students and faculty to support effective learning and teaching in a digital environment.
- Curriculum Design:
Develop and implement a K-12 scope and sequence for digital literacy and responsible digital citizenship. - Ethical Leadership:
Support the school’s commitment to Labore et Virtute by teaching students to use technology with integrity and empower them to act as persuasive and courageous citizens in digital spaces.
- Platform Management:
Oversee the pedagogical use of institutional account services such as Google Workspace for Education, the Learning Management System (e.g., Blackbaud), and Edtech tools to assist teachers and students effectively. - Infrastructure
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the CIO to provide joint oversight for 1:1 technology programs and related operational needs.
Education and Experience
- Education:
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related field is highly preferred. - Experience:
A minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience is required, alongside 2-4 years of significant experience in an educational technology leadership role.
- Classroom
Experience:
Candidates who center the student‑teacher relationship in their approach to educational technology will be considered; technology for its own sake is not valued. - Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in multiple operating systems (macOS, Windows, Chrome OS) and deep experience with Google Workspace for Education and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Google Classroom). - Soft Skills:
A collaborative, patient mindset with excellent communication and project management skills. The candidate must build strong relationships with adults and students; a sense of humor is a definite plus. - Growth Mindset:

Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 (salary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and expertise)
