Title: Assistant Program Director, Monterey Cornerstone Community Center

Reports to: Senior Program Director, Monterey Cornerstone Community Center

Location: 2100 Monterey Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 / year

Job Summary

The Assistant Program Director at Monterey is responsible for assisting the Senior Program Director in the development and management of daily programming for the Monterey Cornerstone Community Center.

Major Duties
  • Conduct overall leadership and implementation of After School programming.
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Plan, direct and supervise the Summer Camp Program
  • Supervise GSS Volunteers, Program Aides, Group Leaders and Youth Interns.
  • Monitor attendance, complete reports and document and report all incidents.
  • Work with the police department for program security and crisis intervention.
  • Responsible for staff recruitment for the after school and summer programs.
  • Oversee client referrals to other programs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required. Candidates with an Associates or higher in Education or Social Work are encouraged to apply.
  • Three years’ experience in youth program supervision and/or administration.
  • Experience in program development for youth.
  • Must be able to engage in crisis-intervention activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills. Team Player and Approachability.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends/late evenings.
