Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Training of Counseling and Psychological Services ( CPS ), the Postdoctoral Fellow provides direct clinical services, including triages, individual and group counseling/therapy, and crisis intervention, to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population.
Essential FunctionsEssential Functions
- Provides direct clinical services, including inital screenings, brief psychotherapy/counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management, to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population.
- Participates in training, multidisciplinary, and administrative team meetings.
- Provides consultation to faculty, administrators, families, and community providers about students of concern and campus-wide mental health issues.
- Participates in CPS’s outreach, prevention, and referral services.

Additional FunctionsRequired Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Completed masters, doctorate, or ABD doctoral status in clinical, counseling or school psychology or related field
- Minimum of one year of providing short-term and group therapy in a community or university/college mental health setting.

Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse university community of students, faculty, administrators, and families.
- Dedication to learning about, understanding and supporting the care of students and the vocation of student affairs in the context of Fordham University’s Jesuit tradition.
- Demonstrated ability to provide multicultural counseling and conceptualizing from a psychodynamic framework.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and experience multitasking with various projects and competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Office suites.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Starting Salary $50,000
