Toddler Lead Teacher (2-Year-Old Classroom)

Pay: $23–$26 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday–Friday
The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking a qualified Toddler Lead Teacher to lead a 2-year-old classroom. This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who excels at creating structured routines, fostering independence, and supporting toddlers’ social, emotional, and language development in a play-based learning environment.
Our toddler program emphasizes consistency, positive guidance, and hands-on experiences that help children feel secure, confident, and excited to learn.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a toddler classroom in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Implement daily lessons aligned with The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Support early language development, movement, creativity, and exploration
- Maintain consistent routines including meals, toileting, transitions, and rest time
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers to ensure classroom quality and consistency
- Observe and document developmental progress and classroom outcomes
- Build strong relationships with families through daily communication
- Maintain compliance with New York City Department of Health licensing requirements and center policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or higher required
- Experience leading a toddler classroom in a licensed early childhood setting
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
- Professional, organized, and team-oriented
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to meet all NYC childcare licensing and background requirements
