Job Title: Preschool Head Teacher - Spanish Summary:

The Preschool Head Teacher will, with the support of an Assistant or Co-Head Teacher, work to ensure that the developmental goals of Reade Street Prep’s programs are being met. Targeted lesson planning, thoughtful self-reflections, ongoing student progress reports, and regular parent and colleague communication are key responsibilities. Preschool Head Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with the Reade Street Prep Teacher Handbook and is expected to work collegially with other staff members.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work cooperatively in the classroom in a Spanish full immersion capacity with 1 other Associate or Co-Head Teacher.
  • Organize and lead developmentally appropriate learning experiences and care‑giving that promotes physical, mental, and social development.
  • Create and document daily lesson plans aligned with the Reade Street Prep curriculum. Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
  • Adapt instruction and materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests. Ensure lessons and activities are creative, interactive, and engaging for all students.
  • Exhibit professional conduct with parents and colleagues. Establish and maintain positive, cooperative, and effective relationships with staff.
  • Arrive in your classroom at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of each class and remain for a reasonable time after each session to ensure the room is left in proper order.
  • Maintain ongoing partnerships with classroom parents via emails, meetings, and conversations as needed. Each Friday, send weekly email to classroom parents, updating them on classroom activities and current learning objectives.
