Salary: $31.87 - 32.97/hr
Position SummaryThe Community School Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the CA Community School Director in the oversight/management and direct supervision of all activities, programs and services implemented within a Community School. He/she will also supervise specific programs such as the after school and summer camp program and staff.
Essential Duties- Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
- Support the Director in all aspects of the Program at the Community School.
- Lead daily implementation and operations of the after-school program for elementary and middle school students.
- Create structures and processes for effective program operations.
- Work closely with the Community School Director to develop a program based on goals and needs of the Community School and surrounding community, as well as partner schools that feed into the program.
- Support the Director in completing paperwork requirements of funders, including attendance and enrollment data, reports, and outcomes.
- Model appropriate child, youth and adult development practices, and handle behavior concerns as needed.
- Directly supervise the after-school program staff, including facilitators and specialists.
- Support recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all additional staff employed through the program.
- Perform other duties as needed under the direction of the Community School Director.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, child psychology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with youth in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Managerial experience preferred.
- Prior experience with DYCD or Children’s Aid preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved youth, particularly middle-school-aged youth.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning and implementation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
- Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative, a sense of humor and a sense of urgency.
