Position OverviewWe are hiring a Seasonal Robotics Summer Camp Instructor to lead hands‑on robotics camps for children and teens at our Tangram location in Flushing, NY. The instructor will run daily camp sessions, guide students through building and coding projects, and create a fun, structured, and safe learning environment. Paid training and curriculum support will be provided.
Responsibilities- Lead in‑person robotics classes and hands‑on activities (building + programming).
- Teach foundational robotics concepts (mechanisms, sensors, simple circuits, logic/loops, debugging, teamwork).
- Guide students through step‑by‑step builds and coding tasks; support small groups and 1:1 help.
- Prepare lesson materials before class and manage classroom setup/cleanup after class.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Track student progress and adjust instruction for different ages/skill levels.
- Communicate with staff regarding class needs, student performance, behavior, and any issues during sessions.
- Support special events when needed (demo days, showcases, competitions, summer camps).
- Enjoy working with children and have a warm, patient, and responsible personality (required).
- Experience teaching robotics / STEM / coding for kids (after‑school programs, camps, tutoring, clubs, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable guiding both hardware builds and basic programming (block coding or beginner‑level text coding).
- Competition experience preferred:
Prefer candidates who have coached a team that won awards
, or have personally participated in major robotics competitions and won awards. - Strong communication skills and ability to explain clearly to students and parents.
