Lecturer Doctoral Schedule - Biological Sciences and Geology (Multiple Positions) FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Department of Biological Sciences and Geology at Queensborough Community College invites applications for a position at the rank of Lecturer (Doctoral Schedule) starting Fall 2026. This position is a full-time, Doctoral Lecturer line with the opportunity for the candidate to earn a Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE).
The successful candidate will teach courses in anatomy & physiology, general biology, microbiology and/or biology for non-majors. Duties include teaching, mentoring and advising undergraduate students, participation in departmental and college activities including serving on different committees such as assessment, course and standing, and curriculum development. The candidate on this Doctoral Lecturer line will be required to excel in teaching and pedagogical skills as well as provide service to the Department and College.
The Department of Biological Sciences and Geology offers programs of study in Health Sciences, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Sciences, Medical Assistant, Biotechnology, Pre-Professional Studies, Pre-Nursing Curriculum, Geology, and required biology courses in Massage Therapy. The department facilities include 15 state-of-the art laboratories with multi-media projection equipment, as well as two laboratories dedicated to research along with a core facility in modern instrumentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior undergraduate teaching experience, with demonstrated use of effective, evidence-based pedagogical practices Prior two to three years' teaching experience and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution Experience in teaching entry level year-long Anatomy and Physiology and/or General Biology science majors at an undergraduate institution Experience mentoring and advising students Experience in teaching diverse student populations Ability to collaborate with colleagues in support of institutional goals COMPENSATION Salary range $82,389 - $ 87,420.

* Salaries will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
