We seek an experienced teacher with a successful track record to teach Middle School Humanities and Advisory. This position reports to the Middle School Principal.
RESPONSIBILITIESHumanities Teacher
- Primary responsibility include teaching Humanities to students in Middle School
- This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.
- Supervising students during non‑instructional time, attending curriculum and grade level meetings
- Other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g. advisory, supervision duties, office hours)
Advisor
The teacher will be part of a grade‑level team of Advisors who supports the social‑emotional needs of the Middle School grade.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, and ability to adapt messages to specific audiences, requiring different levels of detail
- Proactive, positive team player
- Curious, inquiring, inventive, and open mindset
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Master's Degree preferred)
- Experience in a K‑12 educational environment essential
- Five years teaching experience, preferably in an international setting
- Experience with best practices in assessment and reporting best practices preferred (e.g. Standard‑Based Grading and Reporting)
Compensation is between $67,745 and $111,974, commensurate with years of experience as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary is prorated for part‑time or temporary positions). Pending the completion of collective bargaining negotiations currently underway.
