We seek an experienced teacher with a successful track record to teach Middle School Humanities and Advisory. This position reports to the Middle School Principal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Humanities Teacher

  • Primary responsibility include teaching Humanities to students in Middle School
  • This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.
  • Supervising students during non‑instructional time, attending curriculum and grade level meetings
  • Other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (e.g. advisory, supervision duties, office hours)

Advisor

The teacher will be part of a grade‑level team of Advisors who supports the social‑emotional needs of the Middle School grade.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, and ability to adapt messages to specific audiences, requiring different levels of detail
  • Proactive, positive team player
  • Curious, inquiring, inventive, and open mindset
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master's Degree preferred)
  • Experience in a K‑12 educational environment essential
  • Five years teaching experience, preferably in an international setting
  • Experience with best practices in assessment and reporting best practices preferred (e.g. Standard‑Based Grading and Reporting)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation is between $67,745 and $111,974, commensurate with years of experience as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary is prorated for part‑time or temporary positions). Pending the completion of collective bargaining negotiations currently underway.
