The Academy of Finance® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit school dedicated to shaping the next generation of investors through immersive, real world exposure to financial markets.
Our signature program, the Wall Street Master Class®, is a selective and distinctive experience designed for high school and early college students who are curious about investing and potentially exploring a future career in finance.
We are seeking a seasoned financial markets professional to join us as a Lead Global Markets Instructor, who will work closely with the founders of The Academy of Finance® and plays a central role in delivering an exceptional classroom experience.
This position offers a rare opportunity for an experienced market professional to transmit knowledge, discipline, and judgment to the next generation in a high standard environment.
The ProgramThe Wall Street Master Class® is an 8 week immersive experience that blends theory with real-world practice. Students manage a portfolio, debate ideas, analyze risk, and defend their investment decisions.
The program includes:
- Weekly 2 hour in person sessions in Midtown Manhattan
- Virtual lab learning and assignments between sessions
- Exposure to market news, macroeconomic shifts, and sector rotation in real time
- Lead weekly 2 hour in person sessions for a selective cohort of 20 to 25 students over 8 weeks
- Teach core concepts including asset allocation, portfolio construction, portfolio management, optimization, risk management, and macroeconomic frameworks
- Guide students through real time portfolio construction and investment decision making
- Lead discussion of current global macroeconomic and geopolitical developments impacting markets
- Foster dialogue and analytical thinking rather than passive lectures
- Review assignments and provide structured feedback
- Conduct one on one mentoring sessions via Zoom
- Maintain classroom standards, logistics, and professional decorum
- Welcome and coordinate guest speakers
- Represent the Academy’s philosophy of discipline, intellectual rigor, and long term thinking
- 15 to 25 years of professional experience in financial markets
- Direct exposure to real money management and multiple market cycles
- Strong understanding of global macroeconomic forces and equity market behavior
- Charismatic, articulate, and comfortable leading a room
- Able to explain complex financial concepts with clarity and precision
- Genuinely passionate about teaching and mentorship
- Actively engaged with global economic and political developments
- Aligned with a mission driven nonprofit institution built on excellence and high standards
- In person sessions hosted at an investment firm in Midtown Manhattan
- 8 week commitment per cohort
