SUNY Niagara is seeking a passionate and student-centered Nursing Assistant Professor to join our Nursing, Physical & Allied Health Division. Our Associate Degree Nursing (RN) program prepares students for real-world practice through hands-on learning, state-of-the-art labs, and high-impact clinical experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, and community-based facilities. Faculty and students also benefit from our advanced simulation lab, which replicates real-life patient scenarios and enhances clinical confidence.
This full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position is ideal for a nurse educator who enjoys mentoring first-year students and helping them build a strong foundation for success.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach first-year nursing students in classroom, clinical, and lab settings
* Instruction may include content in:
Nutrition, Upper GI, Diabetes, Endocrine, Respiratory, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics
* Provide academic advising and mentoring to nursing students
* Maintain professional standards in teaching, assessment, and student support
Assignments are primarily during the day, with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities.
The start date of this position will be August 27th, for the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be required to work only 162 days per academic year (August - May), and will be provided with a winter break from mid-December to early January, a Spring Break for one week in mid-March. Faculty are not required to work in June, July, and most of August, but opportunities for teaching Summer classes exist.
In addition to the base salary, there is the potential for overload and other assignments, which would increase the base salary. There is also a pathway for promotion to higher level salary positions (Associate Professor, and Professor).

Typical Work Activities
* Teach and advise students in the Nursing program
* Recruit and retain students in the Nursing program
* Participate in lecture, college laboratory, clinical laboratory, and simulation laboratory as assigned.
* Provide instruction based on student learning outcomes for the course, consistent with the philosophy and curriculum of the course and program.
* Enhance instruction with current, evidence-based practice methodologies and examples.
* Participate in administering periodic and final exams and conduct statistical analysis and review for validity and reliability of exam.
