Anticipated Teaching Assistant; Tier II - Charlton Heights

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team (5.5 hrs/day). In this role, you will support students with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting. You will work closely with the lead teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes the academic and social growth of all students.
This position is appointed annually.

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide support for students with varying disabilities, helping them engage with the curriculum.
• Facilitate daily activities and routines, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Opportunities to collaborate with therapists and other specialists to support student needs.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of behavioral management techniques is a plus.
• Have a Teaching Assistant Certificate or be willing to obtain one.
