Location: 1155 University Ave
SummaryThe Group Leader is responsible for assisting participants in completing their homework and providing academic support and guidance.
Responsibilities- Arrive on time, ready to work, and report to the Program Director or Program Supervisor.
- Track daily attendance and contact the participants' guardians when they are absent.
- Collect report cards and track participants' academic progress.
- Complete monthly progress forms and submit them in a timely manner.
- Notify Program Director of changes in participants' behavior.
- Provide academic support and guidance, including assistance with homework.
- Provide supplementary assignments and activities to participants.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Program Director or Program Supervisor.
- Attend monthly parent meetings and special events hosted by the Agency/Program.
- Participate in program recruitment efforts.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of all program spaces.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- HS Diploma or Equivalency; working towards or possessing an AA or BA degree, a plus.
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a childcare program.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Submit background checks in compliance with DOE, DYCD, DOH, and SACC regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The hours during the Summer are 9:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m. During the school year, the hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, particularly in group settings.
- Remain in a stationary position, either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction and guidance.
- Traveling when taking field trips or escorting youth, using public transportation, traversing city streets, ascending and descending stairs, and being exposed to outside weather conditions.
