Job Description

We are in search of a dynamic and seasoned leader to spearhead the establishment and direction of the new School of Business. The Dean will play a pivotal role in defining the School’s essence, designing its curriculum, and shaping its culture. This represents a unique opportunity to construct an education institution from its foundational stages, fostering an environment of progressiveness and active engagement in learning.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive strategic vision for the School of Business, aligned with UMSV's mission, core values, and Strategic Plan
  • Design and implement a unique, integrated curriculum across content areas included in the School of Business (i.e. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, etc.) that emphasizes case-study learning and experiential opportunities
  • Lead the development of new undergraduate and masters and doctoral graduate business programs, with a particular focus on the expansion of content in marketing and media beyond the University’s current communication offerings.
  • Recruit and retain a team of outstanding faculty with expertise in marketing, media, and standard relevant business disciplines traditionally included in Schools of Business
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders, including alumni, industry leaders, and potential donors.
  • Working with currently identified advisors to the School of Business, establish the inaugural UMSV School of Business Advisory Council.
  • Oversee all aspects of the School's operations, including budgeting, personnel management, assessment, academic program development, and student support across all degree levels and program modalities.
  • Building upon the University’s rich history and current initiatives, foster and expand a vibrant and collaborative learning environment that emphasizes ethical leadership and social responsibility in a manner that becomes a distinguishing characteristic of the UMSV School of Business.
  • Maintain accreditation for the School of Business.
Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of ten years of successful experience in higher education, with a proven track record in academic leadership and program development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and fundraising skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, particularly in a case-study based approach
  • Strong understanding of current trends in marketing and media
  • A commitment to the mission and values of the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
Compensation and Benefits

The allotted annual salary range for this position is $140,000 -$150,000
