Main Purpose of Role:
This role is part of Léman Manhattan’s vibrant, collaborative learning community, which delivers an engaging and academically rigorous program for all students.

Key Responsibilities- Teaches a full time load of 5 classes
- Guides an advisory
- Keeps accurate grades using Standard Based Grading
- Communicates with students and families with feedback and progress on academic learning throughout the year
- Knows and uses a wide range of assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives
- Provides reports on student progress and maintains open communication with ensuring that these reports are accurate and constructive
- Differentiates instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of students
- Identifies students who need additional academic assistance and be able to refer such students appropriately
- Provides opportunities for student expression using spoken, written, and electronic forms of communication
- Provides a safe learning environment in which students can take intellectual risks
- Uses learning resources and technology to enhance lessons where appropriate
- Creates an environment that is respectful and fosters a global mindset
- Demonstrates effective organizational skills, including lesson planning, implementing units of study, differentiating instruction, and designing, and implementing assessments
- Exercises classroom management with the use of fair and consistent standards and appropriate expectations that are clearly articulated to the students
- Utilizes learning management and student information systems provided by the school
- Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school; demonstrates behavior that is professional as identified in Employee Handbook (inside and outside of school)
- Continues to grow professionally by participating in educational opportunities, reads professional publications, and participates in professional organizations
- Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude toward new challenges and growth opportunities
- Participates in school-wide events; attends during and after-school functions in support of school community
- Completes a minimum of two duties as assigned by Division Head (number of duties may vary depending on role)
- Attends and participates in all required faculty and staff meetings and serves on school committees as required
- Completes responsibilities as assigned by Division Head or direct supervisor based on student and school needs (e.g. test proctoring)
- Master’s Degree in related field
- Experience teaching an IB Math preferred
- At least 3 years teaching experience in high-performing school
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction within the appropriate content area and/or grade level
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Effective organizational skills including but not limited to lesson planning, implementing units of study, differentiating instruction, designing and implementing assessments
- Ability to monitor student progress and report information in a timely manner
- Ability to manage, delegate and monitor tasks
- Ability to mentor and coach students, acts as a student achievement advocate and advisor
- Highly developed collaborative skills and the ability to work well with others
