FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business of the College of Staten Island of the City University of New York invites applicants for a tenure‑track position as an Assistant Professor of Management, beginning in the fall semester of 2026. We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills and evidence of potential or distinguished records of scholarship, as well as a productive research agenda and commitment to serving the institution and its community.
Primary responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring in Management subjects. Further responsibilities include committee and department assignments such as administration, supervision, and other functions. Specializations of particular interest include Healthcare Management, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability Risk Management, including sectors such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and technology.
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a City University of New York senior college organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with a total population approaching 12,000 students. The Chazanoff School of Business is accredited by AACSB and has approximately 1,900 students, offering programs such as an Associate’s in Business; a Bachelor of Science in Accounting; a Bachelor of Science in Business with concentrations in Management, Marketing, Finance, and International Business;
a B.A. and a B.S. in Economics; and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems & Informatics in association with the Department of Computer Science. The School also offers an M.S. in Business Management with tracks in Strategic Management and Business Data Analytics, an M.S. in Accounting, an M.S. in Healthcare Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics of Large‑Scale Data.

PhD degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. ABD applicants will be considered; however, their degree must be conferred prior to the first day of classes of fall 2026 in order to hold the position.
Preferred QualificationsAn earned Ph.D. or equivalent in Management or another appropriate area, and a demonstrated commitment to research, publication, and teaching.
Compensation$90,838 - $98,995. CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development.
- Salaries will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement. This will bring the salary range for this position to $94,017 - $102,460.
