Position: 26-27 Hiring: School Social Worker/School Psychologist - High School
Location: Chappaqua

The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. We are seeking excellent educators who can provide high-quality instruction and build authentic, supportive relationships with students. We are committed to hiring an inclusive teaching staff to create warm, joyful, student-centered, and welcoming schools.

Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of School Social Worker /School Psychologist at Horace Greeley High School beginning September 2, 2026.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Conducts individual or group sessions for students in need of explicit support in a wide range of areas including social skills, executive functioning and healthy decision making.
  • Experience in crisis intervention.
  • Serves as a resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
  • Current knowledge of best practices in educating students with disabilities in inclusive school environments.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate group decision-making processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CPSE, CSE and Section 504.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well‑being and a sense of belonging.
  • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Has experience with evidence‑based social‑emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
  • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
  • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
  • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
  • Maintains high expectations for all students.
  • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.
Certification/Experience
  • NYS School Social Worker or School Psychologist Certification required.
  • Previous experience as a School Social Worker or School Psychologist required.
  • High School experience is preferred.
