Pay Rate: $40 per hour
Hours: 10 hours per week

Job SummaryThe STEM Teacher is responsible for leading boys and young men through a curriculum intended to support the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills. The STEM Program runs each cycle for 9-12 weeks, 2-4 days a week for up to 6 hours, and the theme or program may vary at the start of each new cycle.

Responsibilities- Effectively manage STEM classroom for 8 to 12 boys or young men
- Engage members in fun and relevant lessons based on established curriculum and specific classroom needs
- Use provided curriculum or develop appropriate STEM curriculum as needed to engage members in project-based learning activities
- Observe and track member progress and attendance
- Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff
- Communicate with Education Director to discuss member progress, needs, and concerns
- Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years college credits with a focus on Science, Technology, Math, Engineering, Education, or other highly relevant field;
At least one year’s experience teaching STEM related programming to school-aged children in a group setting preferred - Commitment to impacting the lives of youth through STEM
- Experience with Lego Mind storms and Robotics preferred
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and address varying needs
