ResponsibilitiesThe Summer School Principal will oversee all aspects of the summer program, ensuring a safe, positive, and productive learning experience for students and staff. The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader who is organized, compassionate, and committed to inclusive education.
The Summer School Principal will:
- Lead daily operations of the Summer School program
- Supervise, support, and evaluate instructional and support staff
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive school climate
- Oversee scheduling, curriculum implementation, and program activities
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and faculty
- Ensure compliance with state, district, and school policies
- Address student needs, behavior, and health/safety protocols
- New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL) certification preferred
- Prior administrative or supervisory experience in a school setting
- Strong understanding of inclusive practices and special education
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Henry Viscardi School
