Brief Description of Duties:

SUNY Morrisville is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Psychology. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area division chairs & dean;

Helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content;

Assessing student learning outcomes;

Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field;

Continuing professional development;

Utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties;

Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position;

Fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook.

Currently: SUNY Morrisville seeks candidates for adjunct faculty to teach sections of Introduction to Psychology, Group Behavior, and The Psychology of Gender, among other courses, for the Fall 2026 semester in an in-person format on the SUNY Morrisville campus.

Future courses may include:

Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Methods, and courses related to counseling, addiction and the CASAC

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in psychology or closely related discipline is required.

Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching Psychology (or closely related courses) at the college level.

Experience teaching in different modalities (in-person, online, flex, etc.)
