The Department of Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine was established in 1964 and has a storied history of major scientific accomplishments. The department currently has 11 primary faculty and is home to the New York Center for Rare Diseases (NYCRD). Embedded in a highly collegial and collaborative environment at Einstein, it embodies the mission to promote health in the Bronx.
The college provides an interactive environment with core facilities.
The Department invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position from qualified candidates with a research interest in fundamental and translational research using genetic or genomic approaches. We welcome applications from candidates with an established track record using a wide range of biological systems to answer bold, new and exciting biological and health questions with innovative approaches.
Responsibilities include contributing to research, education, mentoring, and collaboration; and establishing and maintaining a vibrant research program supported by extramural funding.
Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, concise (1 page) summary of previous research contributions, a well-articulated research plan (2 pages), and a mentoring/teaching statement in a single PDF titled with their full name to GENETICS search by March 27, 2026. Qualifications- Candidates will be considered for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level.
- PhD, MD/PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
- Commitment to excellence in research, education, mentoring, and collaboration.
- Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain a vibrant research program with extramural funding. A generous startup package, laboratory space and departmental support/mentoring will be provided.
- Recruitments may be hired at all levels.
