The Humanities & Social Sciences Program at Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) seeks qualified individuals for its part‑time Adjunct Lecturer pool and welcomes applications at any time. Course assignments vary each semester and may be taught at the Uptown campus, Elmwood campus, or online.
ResponsibilitiesReport to the Program Coordinator to teach undergraduate courses in Humanities and Social Sciences. Course topics may include but are not limited to the following areas:
- Anthropology
- Art History
- Communication
- English
- Ethnic Studies
- Gender & Sexuality Studies
- History
- Philosophy
- Political Science
- Religious Studies
- Sociology
- Urban Studies
Position requires a minimum of a master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant discipline and experience teaching undergraduate courses. The program looks for candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to engage diverse students, and proficiency in online as well as face‑to‑face instruction.
