Prep Academy Tutors of Upper Manhattan & the Bronx is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Academic Tutors to support students in grades K–12 across a variety of subject areas. Our tutors provide personalized, one‑on‑one instruction tailored to each student’s academic needs, learning style, and goals.

We specialize in high‑quality, customized tutoring services that help students strengthen foundational skills, master advanced content, and prepare for standardized exams.

Our Upper Manhattan & the Bronx division is committed to supporting families with exceptional, relationship‑focused educational services.

• Provide one‑on‑one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages)
• Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results
• Track student progress and provide regular updates to families
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment
• Travel to students’ homes (Upper Manhattan and/or the Bronx) or conduct virtual sessions

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred
• Strong subject‑matter expertise in at least one core academic area
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small‑group instruction)
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliable transportation (for in‑person tutoring assignments)
• Authorized to work in the United States

Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand.

• Weekday afternoons and evenings
• Weekends (as needed)

Upper Manhattan and The Bronx (in‑home and virtual options available)

• You hold a valid NY State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher; pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have 2 or more years experience as a classroom teacher in a private or charter school.
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College
• You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College
