Position Title: Part Time Culinary Community Education Technical Assistant

Position Category: Part Time Staff

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Advertised Salary: $21.22‑$23.34 per hour

Department: Workforce Development

Working Hours: Days & times vary, up to 28 hours per week

The role assists in teaching community education courses in Culinary, Baking and Pastry. Classes are 3‑4 hours each week, held at NFCI campus or online. Time is allocated for prep before class and cleanup after class.

Pay rates are based on education level: $21.22 per hour for a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree; $23.34 per hour for a Master’s degree or higher.

• Prepare kitchen classroom for instruction
• Demonstrate cooking and baking techniques
• Assist students with tasks and time management
• Demonstrate proper kitchen safety and sanitation practices
• Clean and sanitize kitchen classroom to NFCI standards

• Work with and teach a diverse student population
• Communicate effectively with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community
• Develop, prepare, and present instructional information
• Operate computers and adjust teaching to meet ADA provisions
• Physically perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

• Associate’s degree in Culinary or Baking and Pastry OR
• Two years of work experience in a culinary or baking and pastry field

• Varied work experience
• Previous teaching experience
