Serving roughly 470 students in kindergarten through grade 12, Browning strives to combine the best of a traditional prep school environment and curriculum with imaginative teaching and a strong value system – all in a single‑sex setting.
Browning is searching for a full-time Lower School Math Specialist (leave replacement) for the beginning of the academic year. The position will begin on or around August 27, 2026 and is expected to conclude on December 18, 2026. The expected salary for this position is $37,500 - $46,000. A bachelor’s degree or considerable experience in the role is required. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Assisting with organizing and leading the implementation of MAP testing in Grades 3‑5

A successful Lower School Math Specialist will possess most or all of the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in elementary education or a related field
- Deep understanding of curriculum teaching pedagogy in math
- Knowledge and appreciation of working with boys (preferred)
- Strong classroom management skills in creating a warm and productive learning environment for all students
- Understanding and appreciation of teaching students from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to proactively collaborate with students, faculty, and parents
- Refined writing and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Math in Focus, Singapore math, MAP testing, and/or other math intervention methods is highly preferred.
