Teacher of Physical Education and Fitness

Trinity School, a co‑educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a full‑time Physical Education and Fitness Teacher with multi‑sport coaching experience beginning September 1, 2026.

As a Physical Education and Fitness Teacher, the faculty member will teach K‑4 swimming, strength and conditioning classes as well as physical education in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools. This faculty member will need to supervise female locker rooms.

The successful candidate will possess:

• A dedication to improving the health and well‑being of their students through developmentally appropriate instruction
• A deep knowledge of fundamental movement skills and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a fun, positive, and motivating manner
• Experience and confidence teaching swim to Lower School students
• An ability to work collaboratively and generously with colleagues, both on teaching and coaching teams and across school divisions
• Highly effective classroom management skills that maintain a safe learning environment
• Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Excellent interpersonal skills, an adaptable attitude, and a sense of humor

Qualifications for the role include:

• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in physical education or another related field
• Prior experience working with Lower School students in a physical education environment
• Prior experience coaching Middle and/or Upper school teams is a plus but not a requirement

Salary range: $80,000—$178,000 (salary based upon experience)
