Position Summary

CIS is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill the part-time Group Leader position. This role is critical to the successful operation of the CIS school year programs. You will support the Activity Specialist in providing a safe and positive environment for school-age children during opportunities for recreation, learning, interaction, and academic/personal growth. Additionally, you will supervise a consistent group of students, implementing engaging activities and supporting SEL, service learning, and academic enrichment under the direction of the Program Director or Assistant Program Director.

Reports to: Program Director or Assistant Director

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group activities and ensure participant safety.
  • Support youth behavior management using restorative approaches.
  • Assist with attendance, documentation, and student engagement.
  • Maintain open communication with families and school staff.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old with 2 years of direct experience working with children under 13.
  • Associate’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must complete 15 hours of PD annually.
Compensation

Compensation: $20-$25/hour; commensurate with experience
