Position Overview
Summer Instructor for the GEAR UP INSPIRES Summer Program at Bronx Community College, part of CUNY. The program serves rising 6th and 7th‑grade students, providing enrichment in ELA, Math, and Art through engaging pedagogical strategies and an interactive curriculum.
Responsibilities- Teach summer enrichment courses in ELA, Math, and Art.
- Implement the provided curriculum and differentiate lesson plans to meet all student needs.
- Administer pre‑ and post‑assessments to track student progress.
- Attend field trips and supervise all students during transportation and the trip.
- Assist with workshops provided by coaches.
- Escort students to the cafeteria in an orderly fashion.
- Take daily attendance and ensure all students are accounted for before submitting attendance to administrative staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- New York State certification for secondary education in the required content area.
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Three years of teaching experience with high school students.
- Must be available to teach for the entire five‑week summer program.
Pay Range:
Minimum $61/hour (maximum $61/hour) – hourly.
