This full-time, contract opportunity is situated close to Brooklyn, NY, and offers the chance to work across two elementary schools with students in grades K-3. You'll collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to enrich the educational experience for children with diverse behavioral needs, helping to shape a positive and nurturing environment.
Qualifications- Active New York Teaching Assistant certification is required
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or teacher assistant in elementary settings is a plus
- Comfortable supporting students with varied behaviors
- Excellent communication skills and adaptability
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere
- Assist certified teachers with day-to-day classroom activities and student supervision
- Provide dedicated support to individual and small groups of students
- Implement strategies to aid students' behavioral, social, and academic growth
- Support classroom management and help reinforce positive behaviors
- Maintain a respectful and encouraging classroom environment
- Foster open communication with teachers, staff, and families regarding student progress
