Liberty

LEADS, part of Bank Street College, provides a college access and college success program for students grades5‑12, Monday‑Saturday, 10months each year. The program’s mission is to support students with limited economic resources to realize their potential and transition into college or entry‑level careers.

• Create, adapt, and implement art curriculum for groups of 10‑12 students.
• Engage students and modify curriculum based on student needs and media, with assistance from Liberty
  
  LEADS advisors.
• Switch to online classes if needed; maintain reliable Wi‑Fi, computer, and camera and ensure student engagement.
• Manage in‑person and remote classrooms using positive behavior‑management strategies.
• Meet regularly with the Liberty
  
  LEADS Middle School Coordinator for supervision and debriefing.
• Prepare a student presentation for the "end of year" celebration and deliver a final project.
• Submit lesson plans to advisors one week in advance for approval.

• NYS Teacher Certification or professional proficiency in the content area (preferred).
• Special Education teachers strongly urged to apply.
• Strong communication skills and group development knowledge.
• Experience working with middle‑school youth and child‑development knowledge.
• Experience teaching classes using Zoom (preferred).
• Reliable Wi‑Fi and computer access.
