Aboutthe Role
The organization is hiring a Case Manager in the Adult Workforce Department
. The role supports employment and support programs for individuals seeking long-term employment, assisting ESOL and general adult workforce clients with the needs, requirements, and compliance procedures of the DYCD
-funded ESOL contracts, including registering for ESOL and basic literacy classes. Responsibilities include conducting intakes, pre- and post-testing, and other duties related to DYCD grant funders. The role reports to the Education and Vocational Training Team
. In addition to ESOL case management, the position may work with general adult workforce clients to obtain and retain competitive employment, connect clients with benefits, and perform related duties aligned with case management, vocational, and employment goals. The schedule is based in the Bronx with typical hours of 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; flexibility is required for occasional travel to other agency locations in Queens, and for evening and Saturday hours as needed to support program operations and participant programming needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with prospective ESOL clients to provide comprehensive case management, goal setting, and counseling to register for classes.
- Manage pre- and post-testing for ESOL clients and help navigate schedules and class offerings.
- Conduct intakes with prospective ESOL students, ensuring all documents meet DYCD standards and compliance requirements.
- Assist Outreach and Recruitment in marketing and advertising class offerings to meet classroom requirements and enrollment targets.
- Meet regularly with ESOL students to ensure attendance; develop individual service plans and goals; assist with necessary paperwork and course requirements.
- Collaborate with the Education and Vocational Training team to achieve monthly and quarterly goals.
- Ensure classes enroll 12–15 students and perform registration follow-up as required.
- Complete comprehensive vocational assessments and provide counseling and referrals to appropriate training opportunities.
- Work closely with management, program staff, and instructors to coordinate services, referrals, and educational support programs.
- Lead workshops and seminars on professional development and education-related topics.
- Provide coaching and direct support to adults with limited work history and educational attainment.
- Help participants identify and overcome barriers by connecting them to internal and external support services.
- Collaborate across departments to identify strategies that help participants achieve educational and employment outcomes.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate participant progress, challenges, and successes with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Complete required reporting, including progress notes, client tracking, and timely data entry according to program deadlines.
- Use data and performance metrics to monitor outcomes and inform service delivery strategies.
- Assist with program reports and support funding proposal development as needed.
- Assist with grant reports, funding proposals, and outcome documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Bengali is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business, Communications, Psychology, or related field.
- One to two years of relevant experience in workforce development, recruiting, or human resources preferred.
