Position: English Language Teacher (International Volunteer) – Uzbekistan
Location: New York

Role Overview

Working at VSO as an English Language Adviser, you will coach local English language educators and partner institutions and teach secondary school students in Uzbekistan. You will collaborate closely with local teachers to strengthen the quality of English teaching in schools across the country, deliver engaging curriculum lessons, lead professional development sessions, run practical coaching workshops, and support teachers and students in improving their English language proficiency and adopting student‑centred methodologies and international best practices.

Qualifications
  • You are passionate about education and language teaching, and believe in the power of English to open opportunities.
  • You hold an education degree and have practical experience teaching English in a school setting.
  • You preferably hold a TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or DELTA certification, or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • You enjoy mentoring and supporting other teachers and have strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • You thrive in cross‑cultural environments, are flexible, patient, and respectful towards diverse settings.
  • You are driven by the values of volunteerism, inclusion, and community‑led development.
  • You believe that volunteering and sharing skills create meaningful, lasting impact; you are open‑minded, adaptable, and curious.
  • You are eager to learn from others while sharing your expertise to strengthen education systems in Uzbekistan.
