Group Leader

Mission Society of New York City is dedicated to breaking the cycle of multigenerational poverty. We empower underserved communities through academic enrichment, career readiness, and college access programs.

This full‑time, on‑site Group Leader position is based in Bronx, NY. The Group Leader will supervise and engage youth in academic, recreational, and enrichment activities, ensuring their safety and well‑being. Responsibilities include planning and leading group activities, supporting learning and personal development, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, collaborating with staff to deliver programs that align with the organization’s mission, and performing administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and contributing to program reports.

• Experience in youth mentorship, group facilitation, and activity planning
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Capacity to manage group dynamics and foster a supportive and inclusive environment
• Organizational skills, including time management and record‑keeping
• Passion for education, community development, and working with underserved populations
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, social work, or a related field is a plus
• Flexibility to work onsite in the Bronx, NY, including some evenings and weekends
