Position OverviewWe are looking for reliable Non-Instructional Substitutes to support various functions within our school. This role includes responsibility for food service, student monitoring, and clerical support, and summer maintenance help.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Service:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure that food is presented appealingly and served at the appropriate temperature.
- Comply with dietary restrictions and food safety regulations.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities to ensure safety and proper behavior.
- Promote a positive and respectful environment among students.
- Address and manage minor conflicts or issues as they arise.
- Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Provide administrative assistance, including filing, data entry, and organizing materials.
- Support teachers and staff with clerical tasks as needed.
- Help maintain accurate records and reports.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate staff.
- Help ensure that facilities are safe and well-maintained for students and staff.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events as needed.
- Hours may vary based on school needs and availability.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and engage actively with students.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Previous experience in food service, child supervision, office administration, or maintenance is a plus.
