Employment type:
Permanent, full-time, 1 year contract renewal cycle. Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
Start date:
1 September 2026, with an expectation to attend orientation during the final week of August.

RoleSummary
York Prep School is seeking an experienced Math Teacher to join our team. The teacher will be responsible for teaching up to four sections of Math in grades 6–12, with a focus on high school courses, and for taking on faculty duties as assigned. The Math Teacher will report to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for STEAM and will collaborate with the Department Chair as needed.
Responsibilities- Teach up to four sections of Math across grades 6–12, focusing primarily on high school courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with language-based learning differences.
- Maintain accurate student records and reports on Canvas.
- Engage in faculty duties and collaborate with the Department Chair and Director of Curriculum and Instruction for STEAM.
- Use educational technology and data to inform instruction.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management and communication.
- Uphold the mission, values, and safeguarding policies of York Prep School.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Strong content knowledge in high school mathematics.
- Experience with diverse learners, especially those with language-based learning differences.
- Strong classroom management and effective communication skills.
- Collaborative, culturally responsive, and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in educational technology.
- Commitment to accurate recordkeeping on Canvas.
